It’s a bittersweet moment that we are saying goodbye to our dear Dr. Meysam Yazdankhah, who has been a Postdoc in our lab since January 2016. Since then, he has been working on the link between activation of the autophagy pathway in optic nerve astrocytes and pathogenesis of persistent fetal vasculature (PFV) disease. Meysam’s other major focus was understanding the role of glial cells in the development and maintenance of optic nerve with special emphasis on autophagy and cell death. His research led to independent funding from the Knights Templar Eye Foundation in 2018.
Meysam accepted a position of Research Scientist at the Neural Stem Cell Institute in New York state and will be starting his new job in September.
Meysam, we will surely miss you. We wish you only our best in your future research endeavors!!!!!
